Privacy Policy
Ellipsis Staffing LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as Ellipsis Connect ("Ellipsis," "we," "us"), connects software engineers with venture capital firms and their portfolio companies. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to ellipsisconnect.com, our forms, and our recruiting activities.

1. Who this covers
- Engineers and candidates: people who submit the Join the Talent Network form, whom we contact, or whom we source.
- VC firms, platform advisors, and company representatives: people who submit the Request Access form or otherwise deal with us for business.
- Website visitors.
You must be 18 or older to use our services. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
2. Information we collect
From you directly.
- Engineers: name, email address, LinkedIn profile URL, and resume (which may include your work history, education, skills, projects, phone number, and location). If you later share it, we also collect information from our calls with you, such as job preferences, availability, compensation expectations, work authorization if needed for a specific role, and any companies you ask us not to contact.
- Company and VC contacts: title, name, LinkedIn URL, email address, firm name and website, and any message you send.
- Anyone: information you give us in emails, calls, and texts.
From other sources. We find engineers through LinkedIn (information you have made available on your profile or through a recruiting tool, used in line with LinkedIn's terms), professional referrals, and public professional sources. We tell sourced individuals how we found them and give them the choices described in Section 6 when we first contact them.
Automatically. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on our website. Our hosting provider may collect basic technical logs (such as IP address and request data) as part of ordinary website operation, but we do not use this data to track you individually or across other sites, and no cookies are set.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, date of birth, financial account numbers, health information, or information about race, religion, or other protected characteristics. If your resume contains any of these, we may remove them.
3. How we use information
- To evaluate your background and represent you to hiring companies, and to match you to opportunities.
- To contact you by email, phone, and (with your permission) text message about opportunities and your representation.
- To operate our database of engineers, which approved VC firms and portfolio companies can search.
- To respond to company and VC inquiries, set up access, and administer subscriptions and placements.
- To run, secure, and improve our website and services, prevent fraud, and comply with law.
- To send business updates. You can opt out at any time.
We do not use information about you to make decisions that produce legal effects without human involvement. People at Ellipsis review matches and make introductions.
4. How we share information
- With companies, at your direction. If you join our talent network, we may share your name, resume, and profile with VC firms that subscribe to our services and their portfolio companies for hiring purposes. We share your information only with your permission, and you can limit or withdraw it (Section 6). We will not share your information with your current employer.
- Service providers that help us operate: form and data collection (Tally), email and communications, hosting, CRM, and analytics tools, each bound to use data only for our services.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to legal process, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Sale and sharing. We do not sell your information for money to data brokers or advertisers. However, because subscribers pay for access to our engineer database, some state laws could treat sharing your profile with them as a "sale." We treat it that way for your protection: we do it only with your permission, and you can opt out at any time by emailing us or using the link in our communications. We do not use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly sell or share information of people under 16.
5. How long we keep it
We keep engineer profiles while you are active in our network and for 24 months after your last interaction with us, unless you ask us to delete sooner. We keep business records (contracts, invoices, placement records) as required by law, typically 7 years.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what we collect and use, access and receive a copy, correct, delete, restrict or opt out of sharing/sales, and not be discriminated against for exercising rights. Regardless of location, we will honor the following:
- Remove me / delete my data: email team@ellipsisconnect.com. We will confirm and act within 45 days (sooner where required).
- Do not share with specific companies: tell us which companies (for example, your current employer) and we will exclude them.
- Stop texts: reply STOP. Stop emails: use the unsubscribe link or email us.
- Appeals: if we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. If your state requires it, you may contact your state attorney general.
We verify requests by matching the information you provide to what we hold. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including access controls and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as required by law.
8. Third-party services and links
Our forms are hosted by Tally, and our site links to LinkedIn and Instagram. These services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Service providers may process data in the United States or other countries.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version with a new date, and if a change is material we will notify you by email or on our site.
